The Amaranta Skirtt is made of tiered layered ruffles in nude chiffons and ivory silk over an ivory satin base. Hand-beaded lace borders the hem. Adorning the dramatic slit at the front is a romantic chantilly lace black hand-beaded velvet and lace bow.

My ‘Pieces Of Me’ series explored the wide gap between how we see ourselves and how the world at large sees us, a project achieved by creating consciously egoic “self-portrait” garments and allowing others to wear “my identity.” This piece was named after a character in 100 Years Of Solitude, a novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
