MIAMI DANCE MAKERS AT PAMM
COSTUME DESIGN BY ME FOR NEW CHOREOGRAPHY BY CECI BENITEZ
Join Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and Miami DanceMakers (MDM) at the museum for our annual celebration of dance inspired by artworks on view! Experience the culminating performances of three new choreographed dance works, by Cecilia Benitez, Clinton Harris, and Erika Loyola, live throughout the gallery spaces.
I just finished costuming Ceci Benitez's dancers for her new choreographed dance inspired by Marcela Canturia's piece, The South American Dream. This dance is so beautiful and the costumes play a big role as the dancers become more adorned with patches hand-painted by me as the dance progresses.
Free Performances on October 3rd and October 5th.

I am so excited to announce that I'm on the roster for the 2023 Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence Program. You can see my fellow artists in residence and learn more about the program at this link here.
This place has everything from antiques to manatees, and I'll have the honor to dive deep into the archives and natural ecosystem with local historians, naturalists, and artists. PETER BULLOUGH FOUNDATION ARTIST RESIDENCY
HEADING TO VIRGINIA FOR A MONTH TO MAKE ART
This fall marks the Peter Bullough Foundation's (PBF) third year of visiting artists. We’re quite pleased to kick off our fall season with nine artists that represent an extremely broad range of practices and backgrounds. Each will bring something unique to the Winchester community and we look forward to sharing Winchester with them.
Community practice plays a large role for two of our artists, Mary Welcome and Pangea Kali Virga, who will both be visiting in September. Welcome describes herself as a “cultural worker collaborating with remote landscapes and rural communities.” Part artist, part activist, her work explores equity and inclusivity, queerness and imagination. Social responsibility is also crucial to Kali Virga’s work as she hopes to create a more sustainable and equitable fashion and art industry. Their fiber art tells a story, weaving upcycled and refuse-sourced material to create wall hangings, installations, and site-specific garments. Both look forward to discourse with the surrounding area.

CERF+ Get Ready Grant
I RECEIVED A GET READY GRANT FROM CERF+
I got a little holiday gift this week in the form of a Get Ready Grant from CERF+, an organization that I deeply respect. This grant will be used for emergency preparedness in my studio practice. This emergency preparedness includes getting additional waterproof bins and shelving to protect my work from water damage and flooding, professional work documentation, and even additional waterproof garment bags for safe storage.
Check out their website which is full of useful resources and information regarding emergency preparedness, artists around the nation, and more.
As part of the grant I will be sharing what I learned through discussions on emergency preparedness at our Cooperative Meetings and my upcoming sewing circles so we can plan as a community!
