I Quench Their Furies, takes an excerpt from the Ancient Greek comdey Lysistrata. Water has always been a sign of femme softness, graceful power, and transition for the artist. The piece is inspired by this powerful symbol and the delicate cross stitching the artist's grandmother used to do, often stitching biblical verses and landscapes. She was a steady force, and her true power lied in her ability to address conflict with kindness. The materials that compose this patchwork ocean current are fully upcycled from women's clothing, scraps, and discarded interior design swatches and beaded with vintage upcycled beads and sequins.
