Miami On Sight is a partnership of independent fashion designers, producers and models and was created to increase economic development in the area of fashion design, clothing merchandising and modeling, and to enhance the visibility of Miami’s local fashion and art scene with a focus on sustainability and community action. 

All selected designers will receive models, 100+ professional photos from the day of the event, a beauty team, exposure and press opportunities, networking opportunities, prep space on the day of show, and more. All selected designers will be required to sign a contract of participation.

To apply, submit the following to miamionsight@gmail.com. Deadlines for the particular shows are below.

  1. A one-page resume and two paragraph designer bio.

  2. A professional, inspired vision of your collection including nine sketches, text and images which explain and illustrate how your designs will interpret this show’s title.

  3. Links to your social media accounts, website (where applicable), and two press clips/articles if applicable.

  4. Your contact information, email, phone number, address.

  5. Registration Fee: $60 for general public, and $30 for student designers, payable via paypal via username miamionsight@gmail.com. You can send it as a “gift” to avoid fees.

  6. What show(s) you are applying for.

Submissions that do not fulfill the standard guidelines listed above will not be reviewed. All designers must be local to Florida.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Please choose one or multiple events in which you would like to participate in. Designers are welcome to apply for multiple events with each event application requiring a separate application fee.

1. DESIGN DISTRICT ART BASEL RUNWAY AND MARKETPLACE

This show will take place on December 9th, 2019 inside of Palm Court at the Design District. You are required to present 9 luxury sustainable looks. 7 designers total will be represented for this show. To be a vendor in the marketplace please inquire about the Vendor application for more details.

 

 Selected designers must be available for the following events.

  1.  November 20th, 2019– Designer Meeting & Orientation – 6pm-8pm

  2.  November 29th, 2019– Show Rehearsal – 6pm-9pm

  3.  December 9th, 2019– Entire Day of the Show

 

Applications are due Friday, November 15th, 2019. Selected designers will be notified by November 18th, 2019.

2. FASHION SHOW FOR SUFFRAGETTES (TBD)

 

This show will take place in January 20, 2020 in the morning. This show will present looks inspired by women's liberation, equality, and the suffragette movement. The runway will be accompanied by live music and spoken word inspired by the suffragette movement, and famous speeches from the suffragettes. Designers are required to present 9 looks. 6 designers will be represented for this show.

Selected designers must be available for the following events:

  1. December 18, 2019– Designers Meeting & Orientation – 6pm-8pm

  2. January 12, 2020– Show Rehearsal – 7:30pm-9pm

  3. January 18th, 2020– Entire Morning- Afternoon

 

Applications are due December, 20th 2020. Selected designers will be notified by December 28th, 2019.

3. LINCOLN RD EARTH DAY FASHION SHOW AND CLIMATE CHANGE PROTEST

This fashion show will celebrate all body types and genders and sustainable fashion. This runway will incorporate a 20 person drum circle, a climate change protest as the finale, and more on Lincoln Rd. Designers are required to present 9 sustainable looks each. 

Selected designers must be available for the following events:

  1. February 18th, 2020– Designers Meeting & Orientation – 6pm-8pm

  2. April 11, 2020– Show Rehearsal – 6pm-9pm

  3. April 22 (or the following weekend), 2020– Entire Day of the Show

 

Applications are due January 20th, 2020. Selected designers will be notified by January 28th, 2020.

4. FASHION SHOW AND DANCE PERFORMANCE

 

This show will take place in June, 2020 in the afternoon. This show will present 9 dancers from the New World school doing choreographed routines in and inspired by original designs in an intimate yet public setting accompanied by live music. Designers are required to present 9 looks. 5 designers will be represented for this show for 5 different dances. We will have a confirmed location for this event soon.

Selected designers must be available for the following events:

  1. April 29, 2020– Designers Meeting & Orientation – 6pm-8pm

  2. June 12, 2020– Show Rehearsal – 6pm-9pm

  3. June  27, 2020– Entire Day of the Show

 

Applications are due April 1st 2020. Selected designers will be notified by April 5th, 2020.
